Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) newly-appointed General Manager Eddie Villanueva Monreal announced that Regular (White) TAXIs can now pick up passenger on the arrival sections of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) starting 18 July 2016.
This is because of the limited accredited (yellow/dollar) taxis and vehicle-for-hire that serve NAIA passengers. The management wants to eliminate the usually long queues on taxi lines and provide convenience to arriving domestic and international passengers.
Aside from regular taxis and yellow taxis, NAIA also allows app-based car service GrabCar with a dedicated pick-up points.
Regular taxis have a flagdown rate of PHP 30.00 compared to PHP 70.00 flagdown rate of Yellow Taxi.

To ensure the safety of the passengers, a dispatch slip which indicates the name of the taxi driver, taxi's plate number, and the name of the taxi operator will be provided to the passenger and a copy of the slip will be kept for records.

Before, regular taxis are only allowed to pick up passengers on the departure area after they drop departing passengers, so people needs to climb to the departure area to avail this regular taxis, but not anymore- today.Aside from regular taxis and yellow taxis, NAIA also allows app-based car service GrabCar with a dedicated pick-up points.

- NAIA Terminal 1 - main arrival area

The management point out that regular taxis should strictly follow their rules and taxis to commit violation may be banned to operate in NAIA premises and taxis driver's license may be revoked.
Mr. Monreal also said their other plans for NAIA like addition of security personnel in all security checkpoints of the terminals.
He proudly said, "We are ready to take steps to make Ninoy Aquino International Airport into an airport that Filipinos can be truly proud of..."
Remember that NAIA has been tagged as one of the "worst airport in the world" by many countries, and I bet we could not disagree with that. But it's good to see the improvements on NAIA Terminal these past years because of the pressure given by the bad title.
