Cars, gadgets, foods, raw materials and many more, are all being transported by sea. Behind these every cargo being safely transported is a hardworking seafarer.

It is observed annually to recognize the unique, and all-too-often overlooked, invaluable contribution seafarers make to the world and the well-being of all of us, often at great risk and personal cost to themselves and their families.

The Campaign

The campaign is designed to be both educational and inspirational. The Day is an opportunity to educate the public and the world about the issues facing the modern-day-seafarer such as piracy. But, most importantly, it is the occasion for us to send our respect and gratitude to all seafarers.
